# 1. Overview

With the technological upgrades of Bitcoin's network, including SegWit and Taproot, the programmability and scalability of Bitcoin have fostered the rise of applications like Ordinals, BRC-20, and Atomicals. These advancements have increased the flexibility and expandability of the Bitcoin network, boosting incomes for Bitcoin miners. 

However, the prosperity of the Bitcoin ecosystem and the consequent rise in network fees have somewhat hindered the development of Bitcoin network applications. **To address this, we propose a revolutionary innovation: GAST, an algorithmic stable protocol designed to reduce Bitcoin network transaction fees while stimulating trade and applications within the Bitcoin ecosystem.** Such a stable protocol, if realized, will have a significant positive impact on the world of cryptocurrency.
